St. . Peter Lutheran Church’s Call Committee and Church Council are pleased to introduce you to our New Pastor: The Reverend Lorrie Davison (Pastor Lorrie).
Pastor Lorrie graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree in theology from Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio in 2004. As an Ordained Minister in the ELCA, she served six weeks as Assistant to Interim Associate Pastor for the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Columbus 2004- 2005.
Since 2005, she has been under call as Pastor at a Florida-Bahamas Synod Lutheran Church near Orlando.
Pastor Lorrie and her husband, Ron, are “transplanted Ohioans,” having lived in Florida for a total of 17 years and resided in Winter Springs, FL. before her call to St. Peter.They have three adult children. Her stepdaughter, Wendy and her husband and three boys live in Ohio, as does her stepson, Mark. Their daughter, Krissy, is in her third year of medical school at the Northeastern University of Ohio College of Medicine.
Ron’s career has been in radio broadcasting, where he served as Program Director and has done on-air work at multiple stations.
Pastor Lorrie taught Biology and General Science at the high school level for seven years in Elyria, Ohio, and then was the sole science teacher at an independent school in Canton, Ohio, where she taught grades 4-8.
Over the past five years Pastor Davison has completed more than 50 hours of life-long continuing education classes, including church renewal, adults working with youth, healthy congregations, aging well – role of religion and spirituality.
Her areas of expertise are pastoral care, visitation, building a sense of community, interpersonal climate, teaching, and evangelism/mission.
She loves to do “simple” knitting projects and counted cross-stitch, and enjoys reading and “dabbling with colors” with paints and colored pencils.
“Two of the most significant passages of Scripture for me have been Jeremiah 29:11-13 and Romans 8:28. And the Psalm verse that speaks most to my heart is Psalm 46:10. These are to name just a few,” says Pastor Lorrie.
Her personal mission: “My passion for ministry is to accompany people as they learn to more deeply love Jesus and as they find their gifts for the ministries that God is calling them to do in the world around them, both as individual believers and together as a congregation of the body of Christ.”
